Camera Records in Time was formed in the summer of 2009 out of a desire to create an environment where photographers can habitually come together to support one another artistically and receive feedback about their work.

C.R.I.T. Quarterly: Issue 3 Release Party


This month, we at C.R.I.T. are releasing the third issue of our quarterly book. This winter issue includes the photographic works of artists Kitty Ethridge, Ben Gebo, Beth A. Gilbert, Laura Miner, Traverse Day Robinette, Hannah Bemelmans, Michael Powers, and Dina Shaposhnikova.

In celebration of the release, please join us on Saturday, February 2nd from 7 pm - 9 pm at Redtail Studio, for an exhibition of photographs from the publication along with light refreshments. 

Copies of Issue 3, along with limited copies of  Issue 2, will be on sale at the reception. Issue 3 will also be available online beginning the day of the release; so stay tuned for the link on this blog!

Also, earlier on Feb 2nd, from 1pm - 6 pm, please visit our table at the Underground Artist & Burner Bazaar. Members of CRIT will be selling prints, along with copies of Issue 3.

Laura Miner in PICNIC @ Nave Gallery Annex


From January 25th till February 8th 2013, Laura Miner will be featured at the Nave Gallery Annex, in a group exhibition titled, PICNIC. Celebrating summer time despite the cold of winter, PICNIC will exhibit a selection from Laura's Dawn series,  playing off "the ripe thriving growth, the vibrant color of what's living in those sultry days of summer." as mentioned in PICNIC's statement of purpose.

Located in Davis Sq, Somerville, MA, this will be the Annex's first opening exhibition. PICNIC was curated by Jenn Harrington and Susan Berstler.

The participating artists are as listed:
Resa Blatman, Sarah Meyers Brent, Charles Daniels, Brooke Mullins Doherty, Adam Gooder, Brett Henrikson, Zach Horn, Marja Lianko, Julie Martini, Laura Miner, Cathy Moynihan, Liz Nofziger, Jesse Stansfield, Anne Siems, Sophia Sobers, Neil Wyatt.

 The opening reception is  this Friday January 25th from 6-9 p.m.

C.R.I.T. NEWS: Members Featured on Photo Blogs and All Visual Slideshow

Within the past couple months C.R.I.T. members have been making waves in the online photo community.  

 Beth Gilbert - Restaurant Interior, Dead Sea, Israel 2010
In November, Beth Gilbert was featured  on LENSCRATCHFounded by photographer Aline Smithson, LENSCRATCH is a "blogzine" which focuses on contemporary photography, and supports photographers by exposing their work to the online photo community. Beth had the opportunity to meet Aline in Chicago during the Filter Photo Festival. There, Beth presented her body of work titled Scarred Land, focusing on how war has caused trauma on the Israeli landscape, and commenting on civilization's impact on the environment.

Michael Powers - Louisa 2011
In December, Michael Powers was featured in Aint-Bad Magazine's blog. Founded in 2011 by photographers: Carson Sanders, Taylor Curry, Caitie Moore and James Jackman, Aint-Bad Magazine is a quarterly publication showcasing emerging photographers, curated thematically for each issue. This article, written by photographer Sarah Pollman, discusses Michael's documentation of life in the southwest Gers region of France from 2010.

Laura Miner - Staring Rooster 2012
On Friday, January 11th, Laura Miner's photographs will be displayed via slideshow at the All Visual Boston Slideshow, along side many other up and coming local and international photographers.
A spin off of All Visual LA, All Visual Boston Slideshow is a one-night only, digitally projected group show curated and hosted by Aviary Gallery with a rotating guest curator. The event is located at Spectacle 128 Brookside Ave., Jamaica Plain, MA. A limited edition program/zine featuring selections from the slideshow and bios of participating artists will be available at the event. It is a wonderful time; with music, refreshments, talented artists, and of course great photography.
