About Us

Camera Records in Time was formed and founded by Traverse Day Robinette and fellow photographer Sam Quinn in the summer of 2009 out of a desire to create an environment where photographers can habitually come together to support one another artistically and receive feedback about their work.

Hannah Engelson: More Sleepers

Originally I began the Sleeper series as a lark, taking photos when I happened to have my camera around people sound asleep.

To continue with the project, I developed a few new approaches to documenting slumber.

In order to photograph myself asleep I set my camera timer to go off every minute beginning at sunrise. For months I would carefully set the camera up before bed and wake in the morning, excited to see what was captured while I slept.

Enough friends have heard about this project that I've been getting offers to stay overnight on the couch and photograph them. Meghan was one of those willing participants.
